Cypress Test Kitchen
Today Cypress.io has announced a joint project with America’s Test Kitchen that combines web end-to-end testing with cooking recipes and kitchen experiments. The joint project is called Cypress Test Kitchen and it will be available for all paid Cypress Cloud users. There will be limited availability for open-source public projects free of charge.
“We see Cypress as a premier tool for end-to-end testing, and what hard work does to you? It makes you hungry, and that’s where Cypress Test Kitchen comes in.” - said the CEO of Cypress, Joey Keller. “You reach for the snack, and how do you know which snacks go well with your current project? That’s where our new product comes in. It will analyze your project and suggest the best recipes to cook, so you can have a delicious meal while your tests are running.”
We reached out to America’s Test Kitchen press office for comment. In a written statement, they stated:
“We are excited to partner with Cypress on this innovative project that brings together the worlds of end-to-end testing and culinary exploration. We kind of missed the boat on the crypto stuff, but with vibe coding being so popular, we see this as a great opportunity to reach a new audience. Especially with Work-From-Home (WFH) becoming the norm, we found that most vibe coding is done in the kitchen, so it is important to use proper tools to cook AND test.”
Cypress stock CYPH jumped 7% on the announcement. Some analysts urge caution and remain skeptical about the long-term prospects of the project, citing dieting trends and long-term performance changes among developers who may be more focused on cooking than coding over the long term. Still others remind investors that Cypress tried to enter the Web3 space with their failed project “Test Results Blockchain”, and even merging with John Deere to create agricultural and testing conglomerate.
