Direct links to Cypress documentation pages
Bonus day 26: How to quickly open a documentation page for any topic
Cypress documentation site has a nice little feature to prevent deadlinks from floating around. All internal and shared links are routed through “on.cypress.io” service that redirects to the current deployed page. For example, each command has an “on.cypress.io/<command>” redirect. Do you want to open the documentation page for “cy.click”? Type “on.cypress.io/click” and voilá - you end up at the “https://docs.cypress.io/api/commands/click” page.
There are redirects for all major testing topics, like “on.cypress.io/studio” redirecting to the Cypress Studio, and “on.cypress.io/ci” redirecting to the Continuous Integration page. Some pages have aliases as redirects; both “ci” and “continuous-integration” redirect to the same page, just like “ts” and “typescript” end at the same Cypress TypeScript guide.
In general, every page title can be used as an “on” redirect if you take the H1 title, convert it to lowercase, and use dashes instead of spaces. For example, the “Error Messages” page below is reachable via the “on.cypress.io/error-messages” permanent URL.
Finally, if you find a documentation page without an “on” link, it is probably a bug, and you should open a new issue in the cypress-documentation repo.
